JOB CONTEXT

The Director, Branding & Communications is responsible for setting and guiding appropriate strategies for marketing, branding, communications, and public relations activities in below the line, traditional media and digital/social media platforms. The Director is responsible for planning and managing all communications, and building external relationships with stakeholders. The Director will work closely with the admissions team to attract quality admission seekers and with the Career Service office to attract reputed employers. The Director will work in partnership with other offices/centers/departments within the university on a variety of strategic initiatives to support the university’s mission, values, and goals.

REPORTING

The Director, Branding & Communications reports to the Vice Chancellor.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brand ULAB as the most desired place to study in the country
  • Vehemently support promoting ULAB students in the job market
  • Brand our research activities effectively to ensure more research collaboration with the reputed organizations / universities in future
  • Plan, implement, and lead integrated marketing, branding and communications strategies
  • Supervise and coordinate the Communications team
  • Implement efficient management systems to ensure that accurate and attractive marketing/promotional contents are captured, developed, and presented effectively with the maximum impact

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. EDUCATION
  1. Masters/MBA or equivalent degree in a relevant field from a reputed university
  2. A university degree from an English-speaking country will be preferred
  3. Professional certifications in digital marketing and allied areas will be considered as additional qualification
  1. EXPERIENCE
  1. Minimum 10 years of work experience in relevant areas, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial position
  2. Knowledge about the higher education of Bangladesh sector is desirable
  1. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  1. Excellent marketing, branding, and project management skills
  2. Detail oriented, excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to develop priorities and meet deadlines
  3. Strong people skills and ability to work in teams across the university
  4. Excellent communication and creative writing skills (English & Bangla)
  5. High level of IT skills
